Spur-thighed tortoise is a close relation of Hermann''s tortoise, it is easy to mix them up. The easiest way to differentiate them is to check the carapace above the tail. In case of Hermann''s tortoise it is divided, whereas in case of Spur-thighed it is not. Watch it! The colour and the pattern of the shell can be diverse. Sometimes dark and white parts can merge, but sometimes the white contrasts strikingly with the dark. Habitat: Woody areas and scrubs Spread: Europe, North Africa, Asia
