Nutrition: It consumes leaves and smaller amount of grasses.
Reproduction: After a 275-315 day-long gestation, the female gives birth to one calf. The calf reaches maturity at the age of 2-3 years. The species''s life expectancy is 20 years.
Did you know? Anoas seem to be the miniature variant of water buffalo. They might have become miniature because of their habitat, an island, that it can only support a limited number of individuals.
Watch it! Its hair is black and spare, it has white ”stockings”. White spots can occur on its face and on its throat as well. Young specimens are woolly and brownish.
Habitat: Primarily it occurs in untouched rainforests and marshlands.
Spread: It is native to Sulawesi also known as Celebes, an island in Indonesia.
