Did you know? Chitals have been exported from their original habitat ever since ancient times. However, the European colonization was not that successful, individuals of this species can only be found in Germany and England, unlike in the case of fallow deer. Watch it! If we take into account its shade, it is one of the most beautiful species of deer. It has a slim body, but standing on short feet it seems squat. The neck is relatively thick, the head is short and normal. There are rope-like white spots on its fur, the colour of which varies from reddish-brown to yellowish-brown. Its big, dark eyes and its long upper eyelashes are attractive. Its nice, lyre-shaped horn curves from the bottom backwards, outwards and upwards together. Habitat: It feels itself at home in lowlands and in hills as well. It can be found in foothills of the Himalaya Mountains, in selectively fibrous forests and in the jungle too, usually near waters. Where there is an appropriate area, it can be found in huge flocks. Spread: They are native to tropical and subtropical areas such as India, Nepal and Sri Lanka. Due to its beauty it was introduced to Australia, Florida, Brazil, Argentina, Hawaii and to Europe as well.
