Did you know? Asian black bears are good climbers of tree and adapted to arboreal life. Its Latin name: Ursus thibetanus and it refers to the place of occurrence. In accordance with its lifestyle it is a predator, but like most of its relatives black bear eats plants and sometimes even carrion.
Watch it! Its most typical feature –from which its Hungarian name has come- is a white V stripe which is tapering from downwards to upwards located above its two forelegs. When it is standing on two feet, it is always recognizable.
Habitat: It prefers forested areas
Spread: It occurs in the middle part of Asia, in North India, in Tibet, in the Himalaya Mountains.
