- In the lives of
our Hungarian ancestors, sheep were the most important livestock afterhorses. The Racka sheep is a typically Hungarian breed. I t can survive in fallow pastures where other breeds would per form poorly. It is an unpretentious, hardy and tenacious breed. Its wool is coa rse, good for felting. - Racka's entire body
structure is pleasing, yet the most beautiful and characteri stic part of hisbody is his head. Its proud stance and upright, swollen horns are unique among the world's shee p breeds. The skin of the Racka is fine but extremely supple. Its fleece is coarse, uniquely tufted, almost braided in texture, wav y, reaching up to 30 cm or more in some areas, almost to the ground, covering only the neck and the trunk. I ts colour is white or black.
