Our farmyard has opened its gates

Our zoo has expanded with a new, experience-focused exhibition area, where visitors can get up close and personal with traditional farm animals.
The aim of this new space is not only entertainment, but also education – especially for the younger generation.

Nowadays, fewer and fewer children have the opportunity to see animals in real life that were once a common sight on almost every rural homestead. That is exactly why the idea of the farmyard was created – so that children (and of course adults as well) can experience the atmosphere of countryside life, and get to know these animals not only from books or screens.

Among the residents of the yard you can find the Hungarian Giant Rabbit, the friendly and rather rare Minnesota pig, as well as the curly-coated Mangalica, which is native to Hungary. These animals are not only adorable, but also an important part of our traditions. And there is more to come – a new aviary will soon be added, further enriching life in the farmyard and offering visitors new experiences.

If you are looking for a touch of rural atmosphere in the middle of the city, the farmyard at the Győr Zoo is now a perfect choice for a family program.
