- It is an excellent swimmer, has been found far from the coast, and has colonised many small islands in its range.
They can consume prey up to a quarter of theirown length, and prey equal to their own weight. - Among the largest documented prey wasa Sun bear weighing 23 kg, eaten by a 6.95 m-long reticulated python.
It is the world’s longest snake - adults can grow up to a length of 8-10 metres. They are among the most attractive snakes on Earth, with a rich and complex colour pattern. They have a complex geometric pattern that incorporates different colours. - The back typically has a series of irregular diamond shapes. Like the pythons, it has no fangs. It attacks from ambush, waits until its prey is within range, then wraps itself around the prey and strangles it.
