Did you know? It is located in the most densely populated parts of Australia, ranging in all kinds of areas up to 1000 m high. It prefers those areas where streams or rivers run through. The tiny, green parrots often go in ravines to the gardens of coastal areas. They run around in the grass and eat seeds along with other food.
Watch it! It is flying fast. The plumage of layers differs from that of males. While the primary colour of the male is grassy green with a blueish tint on its back and with a bright red stripe on its tail, whereas the layer’s featuring colours are olive-green and olive-yellow with whitish and pale bluish elytron.
