Adopt an animal

Adopt your favorite animal! Become a foster parent too! Support our zoo, become part of our conservation efforts!

The lowest level of support is: 10,000 HUF. For this amount, we provide the foster parent with a certificate of adoption and a biography of the selected animal and we also invite you to a special parent meeting via the email address provided. The extraordinary parent meeting is held once a year, in the fall, to which all foster parents receive an invitation. Here, they can ask questions of the animal caretakers, and during a professionally planned zoo walk, they can gain real inside information about their foster children. After the walk, we also host the "parents" with a snack, followed by an informal conversation in the VIP rooms of the Hall Playhouse.

Important!

Foster parent can enter the zoo free of charge only once a year, on the day of the foster parents! When visiting the zoo on other days of the year, they must also purchase an entrance ticket.

Please note that if you are unable to come to the day of the foster parents, we will not be able to welcome the adoptive parents individually at a later date, as the zoo staff does not have the capacity to do so.

How can you adopt a zoo animal?

Adoption can be done through our website or in person at the zoo office.

If you are adopting through our website, you will need to fill out a form, send the form to our address, and transfer the desired amount to the zoo.

Please write the adopter's name and the name of the adopted animal in the message section when making the transfer, this will also speed up the process.

We will not send a confirmation email after filling out the form, only a successful email message will appear, and after the amount has been received, we will mail the adoption.

If you would like to arrange the adoption in person, our staff is happy to welcome you in the office every weekday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. If possible, please inquire by phone in advance.

Is it suitable as a gift?

Yes. You should still fill out the form on our website! In this case, you should write the name of the adopter whose name the certificate should be addressed to. You should enter the email and postal address where you would like us to send the adoption and informative letters about the foster parent meeting, invitations. In the comments section, write all the information we need to know to process the adoption accurately and quickly. If you would like to pay by bank transfer, you must always write the name of the adopter and the adopted animal in the message.

Extension of adoption

If you decide, to our great delight, that you would like to adopt the animal for more than one year, please fill out the form on our website again and write in the comments section that you would like to extend the adoption. This is the only way we can fully register and notify adopters.

What will happen to the animal after adoption?

Adoption is a symbolic action. Of course, no one can take the animal home, it will continue to stay at our zoo, in its own enclosure. The foster parent has the opportunity to visit their pet once a year, at the foster parents' meeting, which is held every year in the fall. All foster parents receive an invitation. The adoption is for one year, but can be extended. We support the feeding and health maintenance of the animals from the donations of the foster parents.
