Animal Acceptance Information
Dear Visitors!
Many people contact us by phone or in person, expressinginterest in bringing animals to the zoo, as they have heard thatthe zoo accepts animals. However, our Wildlife Rescue Center only accepts representatives of native, wild fauna. In the following information, you can read which animals we do and do not accept.
ANIMAL ACCEPTANCE INFORMATION
Animals are accepted during opening hours, with the lastintake possible one hour before the current ticket officeclosing time (or two hours before the zoo closes). Prior telephone coordination is required!
Animals that can be accepted:
• Injured/sick individuals of native, wild amphibian, reptile, bird, and mammal species
• Young, care-dependent individuals of native, wild bird and mammal species
• slider turtles
Attention! Ornate box turtles are only accepted after prior coordination! Before bringing the animal, please call the zooat +36-96-618-367, as we will no longer be able to acceptanimals after the onset of cold weather (October-Marchperiod).
Only after prior coordination can we accept:
• Healthy individuals of native, wild amphibian, reptile, bird, and mammal species
• Exotic and pet animals
• Farm animals
Animals that cannot be accepted:
• Dogs, cats
