Earth Day at the Zoo
Earth Day, observed every year on April 22, gives us a chance to stop for a moment and think about what we can do to protect our planet and its wildlife. For our zoo, it’s not just a special date on the calendar—it’s the foundation of our everyday work.
Conservation is part of our everyday life
The mission of our zoo is not only to present animals—we also take an active role in protecting endangered species, raising awareness, and providing education. Earth Day is a great opportunity to highlight how fragile the ecological balance is, and how important each and every one of us is in preserving it.
Among our residents are many species that are endangered in the wild. Their care, our participation in breeding programs, and international cooperation all serve the goal of ensuring these animals can survive in the long term.
What can we do together for the Earth?
Environmental protection is not only about large-scale actions—our everyday decisions matter too:
- reduce plastic use,
- pay attention to selective waste collection,
- support sustainable solutions,
- and learn as much as possible about the natural world around us
In our programs, we place special emphasis on helping visitors discover these topics in a playful, experience-based way.
Come and join us in celebrating nature—not just on this day, but all year round!
