• Its long neck is made up of 7 cervical vertebrae like most other mammals.
• The giraffe is one of the least sleep-deprived mammals, sleeping only 20-120 minutes a day. 
• Giraffes were long thought to be mute. But this belief has been proven wrong, and they communicate not only through smells and visual cues, but by sound as well. 
• Although their sounds are mostly inaudible to the human ear, as they have a very low frequency.
• The shape and distribution of their spots vary not only between subspecies but also, to a lesser extent, between individuals.
