The Xantus János Zoo in Győr is waiting for you with a special surprise! 50 TIMES instead of 5!
Our institution celebrated its 50th anniversary in May 2017. The beginning of our story dates back to the first zoo-like facilities in Győr, established in 1962 in Püspökerdő, next to the Forestry Depot. The game park was created in the floodplain of the Mosoni-Duna River with the goal of showcasing native large game species and predators. Its operation ended with the1966 flood, during which most of the animals were lost, and some were relocated to private homes. Following this sad event, the decision was made to establish a new zoo in Győr. On May 1, 1967, the "May 1st Culture Park" was opened bythe Győr City Council, which consisted of two parts: a game park and an amusement park. Since then, the park has undergone numerous developments, offering visitors a true leisure experience, where they can discover the wildlife and culture of distant lands and participate in various recreational programs.
On this special occasion, we surprised our visitors with aunique offer.
"Come 50 times instead of 5!" In addition to the regular entrance tickets, we have introduced an annual unlimited pass. With this pass, visitors can visit their favorite animals as manytimes as they wish during opening hours. To make the passfeel like a true gift, all our visitors can purchase it for the priceof only 5 regular tickets.
Those who purchase the pass will also enjoy additional benefits, being treated almost like VIP guests. They can skip the waiting lines, as visitors with a pass are granted immediate entry at the ticket counter. Furthermore, pass holders will be the first to receive updates about events in the park throughour zoo newsletter, provided they agree.
This could be the best surprise: "Anytime at the zoo!" Givethe gift of a year full of "roaring – chirping – grunting – howling – hissing – meowing – hooting – purring – whining – neighing – growling – quacking – oinking – screeching – whinnying – buzzing – bleating..."
Zoo Győr - Pass Information
• The pass allows unlimited entries, even on every day of the year.
• The pass is valid for one year from the date of purchase.
• To obtain the pass, a completed application form and a passport-sized photo are required. Please bring your photo with you!
• Discounted passes are only valid with a photo and the discount-eligible ID. Please present both the pass and the ID upon entry!
• The pass is non-transferable and may only be used by the owner. In case of misuse, the Xantus János Zoo will revokethe pass immediately without compensation.
• The pass is valid for visits during the zoo's regular opening hours, and entry is only allowed up to one hour before closing time.
• The pass can be purchased for another person (a photo and the person's details are still required).
• By using the pass, the owner agrees to abide by the zoo'svisitor rules.
• The zoo will not replace lost passes.
• Passes can be purchased at the ticket office, up toone hour before the ticket office closes. The ticket office closes one hour before the zoo closes.
• Payment methods: cash, credit card, euros, and SZÉP-kártya (recreation subaccount) are accepted.
• Pass purchases are not possible during events due to technical reasons (Events include: Easter, Children's Day, Zoo Night, Animal Blessing, Halloween, etc.)
• If you arrive with a pass, please inform the ticket office, as we aim to ensure our pass holders avoid waiting in line.
