After dark, a whole new world awakens at Győr Zoo. In autumn and winter, the familiar zoo surroundings come alive with enchanting lights, glowing shapes and spectacular installations. This year, WildLight Park once again invites visitors to embark on an unforgettable evening adventure.

On June 21, we celebrate the tallest land animals on Earth. World Giraffe Day is observed on this date because it coincides with the longest day of the year, making it the perfect occasion to honor the animal with the longest neck in the world.
We’re preparing exciting programs for Children’s Day – this weekend will be all about games, adventure, and getting close to animals!
During the Pentecost long weekend, we welcome you with special experiences. Alongside our regular programs, we are preparing extra animal feedings, spectacular presentations, and all-day family activities.

The first, zoo-like institution was created in the Bishop’s Forest in 1962, close to the lumber yard. The zoo was established on the floodplains of Moson-Danube in order to show the species of game and predators. Even a brown bear was there on show. The animal park of the Forestry was functioning until 1966: in accordance with recollections it was a zoo with significant attendance, but there are no records to prove it.
