On February 2, we’ll find out when spring is coming
On this day, an exciting tradition comes to life once again at Győr Zoo, as we welcome visitors to our bear weather-forecasting event
On February 2, all eyes turn to the bears, as folk tradition says this is the day when it’s decided when spring will arrive.
The prediction itself is simple yet exciting: if the bear sees its shadow, it gets frightened, retreats back into its den, and we can expect a long winter ahead. If, however, the weather is cloudy and the bear doesn’t see its shadow, it stays outside—signaling that spring is on its way.
The good news is that from this date on, you can see our animals outdoors for longer, all the way until 4:30 p.m.
During a pleasant walk, you can observe them up close while recharging with some fresh air.
And if you’d like to make the day even more special, until February 28 you can combine your zoo visit with a stroll through the light park.
The magical lights are guaranteed to make the evening unforgettable.
Come along, unwind, and enjoy the most beautiful moments of winter with us!
